The Japanese Language Instruction Support Program for Students of Tokyo Metropolitan Schools provides one-stop services in handling inquiries and requests for support from Tokyo Metropolitan Schools regarding students requiring Japanese language instruction. The program conducts the Multicultural Support Center for Students of Tokyo Metropolitan Schools commissioned by the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education.

What is the Multicultural Support Center for Students of Tokyo Metropolitan Schools?

TEPRO works together with local NPOs and other organizations with support know-how to operate the Center. In order to support students enrolled at Tokyo Metropolitan Schools and requiring Japanese language instruction, the Center offers consultation for inquiries from schools, introduces Japanese language instruction support staff and interpreters and conducts other various activities.

Those who provide support under this program, including Japanese language instructors, teaching supporters, interpreters for parent-teacher-student meetings, etc., specialists on laws related to residential status and specialists providing learning sessions pertaining to Japanese language instruction support.

TEPRO can introduce Japanese language instruction support staff, interpreters, etc., provide support for learning sessions, plan a course of Japanese language lessons and address other matters using its extensive network and sources of information.
